What is Aum school?
A non profit education institution providing an integrated curriculum for K-5 students imparting Vedic values as part of their daily learning experience. We have a school successfully running in San Antonio Tx and we are in the process to start Aum branches in the Bay Area and Seattle.
How virtual classes will be conducted?
We will be using Google Classroom and Zoom
How do I get information about virtual classes?
You will receive an email with all details upon registration before our program starts
How will teachers communicate with parents/students?
Teachers will communicate with the parents via firstname.lastname@example.org and Google Classroom as needed.

What preparations are needed for my child to attend online classes?
As a parent do I need to sit with my child during class?
For pre-school group (age 3 -5yrs) and grade 1 - we recommend a parent to be present in the same room
Are you going to share class recordings if my child misses any class?
No. We need permission from every parent to record the session and since it is online and kids are involved,we cannot share recordings without explicit permission from all parents in the camp. We cannot promise, but teachers can follow up with the kid/parents if they miss 1 or 2 sessions to provide info to catch up.
How much is Registration fee?
Pre-School-Kinder: $25.00 / Grade 1-8: $50.00
What is the language of instruction??
English will be the language of instruction for all classes, except Samskritam class where we have trained teachers who will use Simple Samskritam and tried and trusted delivery method to communicate with children in simple samskritam. Please be assured that our teachers have experience communicating with non Samskrit speaking kids with Samskritam and you will be surprised how kids pick up basics of spoken Sanskritam in a short time.

We have qualified and certified Yoga/Samskritam/Vedic math teachers who will be taking up Zoom sessions with support of admins to host the online Zoom call

Therefore, for our Preschool Program, we have created an integrated curriculum covering academics along with yoga, dharma and heritage. Our Afterschool Program is an enrichment program in the areas of yoga, Sanskrit, dharma and heritage, with options to learn Vedic Math and regional languages.

Our academic - year-long integrated program is a great opportunity to enroll your preschooler age 3 - 5 from the comfort of your home as a substitute for in-person learning for preschool aged children. We have both Preschool & Pre-K groups to cater to different age groups

Why are the Preschool/Pre-K session duration 1.5 hours?
The goal is to limit the on-screen time for children keeping their health in mind, so we have limited the virtual class to 1.5 hours . However, we will provide activities to be done offline so that students’ learning is enhanced and they are engaged throughout the day.
My child is 5 years old. Will she attend the same class as a 3 year old? How do I know if I should enroll my child in the Preschool vs. Pre-K age group?
No, a 5 year old and 3 year old will not attend the same class. We have separate classes for 2 age groups:
What are the timings for Virtual Preschool Program?
If you are in Central or Pacific time zone, you will login at your 10:30am OR 4:00pm local time. If you are in Eastern or Mountain time zone , you will login at your 11:30am OR 5:00pm local time (see table below)
What is the Virtual Afterschool Enrichment Program?
Our afterschool program is an enrichment program for K-5 students. It has 2 components:

What are the fees for the Virtual Program 2020-21?
Our program fees have 2 components: monthly (or semester) payment + one-time registration fee. Monthly fees are due at the end (30th/31st) of each month. The unpaid enrollments will be cancelled starting 1st of every month and a re-registration fee of $25.00 will be charged for later payments and continuing the classes.

How is Afterschool program content different from summer camp?
In the Afterschool Program, students will be introduced to concepts through new themes, which have not been covered in summer camps. In subjects like yoga, the focus will be to introduce basics to new students, to reinforce postures & pranayama learned earlier, and to bring greater awareness and inner development through the practice of postures. In subjects like Vedic Math and Sanskrit, students will get the opportunity to revise certain concepts, and learn new material. Dharma & Heritage will focus on new themes, stories, bhajans, and shlokas from our rich and vast culture.
Can I enroll my child mid-way through the Virtual Program 2020-21?
Both our Virtual Preschool Program & Afterschool Program are academic-year-long programs. Students can enroll ONLY at the beginning of each semester (Sept. 2020 & Jan 2021). Students joining in Jan 2021 will be put in a new batch (new batch minimum 10 students required)
What is the refund policy for Virtual Program 2020-21?

Is there a sibling discount for summer camp?
There is a 10% sibling discount. When registering, please fill out one form for each child. At the end, there will be a field "Sibling Name", where you can enter the first and last name of the sibling. Once the registration forms for all children come in, we will verify the names and refund back your 10% discount. All refunds will be processed within a week after the camp starts.
Is there early bird registration?
There is early bird registration (when registration fees are waived) until March 31, 2021. After that, registration fee will be $25 for PS/PK/K and $50 for Grades 1-7.
Will there also be in-person summer camps?
Yes, there are in-person summer camps in three locations: San Antonio (TX), Charlotte (NC), and Fremont (CA). Details will be coming soon.
