Aum School's Unique Selling PropositioN 

Grades K-5 each have three books per grade level – one book for each core subject. The curriculum at Aum School balances academics with extracurricular activities, ensuring that students develop in a well-rounded manner. In addition to regular subjects
English Language Arts, Math, History, and Science.

Aum School’s unique proposition lies in the inclusion of three core subjects namely Yoga, Samskrit, and Dharma & Heritage.


Grade Classification The curriculum is broadly organized into two distinct categories based on the age groups:

  • preschool and pre-kindergarten
  • after school grades K-5

Books catered to Aum Core Subjects

  • Preschool and Pre-kindergarten primarily follow a single textbook each for the entire year. The books include the three core subjects
  • In addition, to regular academics – Grades K-5 each have three books per grade level – one per each core subject.

Curriculum DESIGN AND  IMPLEMENTATION PROCESS

In House Publication

Aum School has its own dedicated in-house curriculum team. The team has a lofty goal to publish and copyright a total of 14 handbooks in Phase-I. These books include

  • One for preschool
  • One for pre-kindergarten
  • Six for Yoga
  • Six for Dharma-Heritage 

SamskritBharati books are being leveraged for Sanskrit. 

Also Per grade, each subject is accompanied by a Teacher Handbook 

Thus far, the team has published
* A workbook for preschool 
* A workbook for pre-kindergarten (printed in two parts)
* Yoga book for Grade KG
* Another five Teacher Handbooks

The curriculum designing begins with brainstorming in consultation with industry-recognized subject matter experts. High-level topics per subject, per grade, are finalized to form the framework. These topics are further expanded upon to form the books for students and teachers:

Teachers Handbook
  • These are reference books for teachers for each academic year. These books define the teaching structure methodologies for content delivery
  • PowerSchool’s LMS software is used to define its structure.
  • The handbook includes supplementary material to the textbook
  • Instructional strategies and methodology included in these assist teachers in ensuring essential supplemental materials are included in the classroom instructions.
  • Teachers are expected to maintain clarity on the higher-level goals for their respective grades at all times.
Workbook
  • The student’s workbook is a hands-on activity book where students learn the teaching material through real-world simulation activities.
  • Each unit in the Workbook is directly mapped to the Teacher’s Handbook
  • Age-appropriate personality development skills are introduced and expanded upon with each grade level
Textbook
  • These are currently in the design process
There is a constant emphasis throughout the course work to teach FUN-damentals in a playful method through innovative & interactive activities.

ACADEMIC STRUCTURE

Aum School follows the semester-based academic calendar.  

  • One academic year is split into two semesters – namely Fall and Spring
  • Both semesters are 18 weeks long, adding up to a total of 36 weeks in an academic year
