Sanskrit

  • Phonetics: Learning the correct pronunciation and phonetics of Sanskrit is crucial for understanding and interpreting its texts.
  • Grammar: Studying Sanskrit grammar (Vyakarana) is fundamental to comprehend the structure and syntax of Sanskrit sentences.
  • Scriptural Texts: Sanskrit students often focus on reading and interpreting classical texts, such as the Vedas, Upanishads, and epics like the Mahabharata and Ramayana.

Dharma & Heritage

The Dharma and Heritage curriculum has four strands: Culture, Music, Shlokas, and Stories

  • Culture Strand: Students learn about India's rich culture and traditions, fostering a sense of pride in their Indian origin.
  • Music Strand: Students are taught to sing simple bhajans, enhancing their musical skills and cultural appreciation.
  • Shlokas Strand: Focuses on teaching students to chant shlokas, along with understanding their meanings, to appreciate the values conveyed.
  • Stories Strand: Students explore morals through ancient fables and modern tales, enriching their moral and ethical understanding.

The curriculum aims to deepen students' understanding of Indian cultures, traditions, and the significance of the Vedic systems in society and the universe.

Yoga

  • Asanas: Yoga classes often include the practice of physical postures (asanas) to promote flexibility, strength, and overall well-being.
  • Meditation: Learning various meditation techniques to achieve mental clarity and inner peace is an integral part of yoga education.
  • Pranayama: Pranayama is a yogic practice of controlled breath regulation, which involves various techniques to enhance and optimize the flow of vital life force (prana) in the body.

Vedic Mathematics

  • Sutras: Vedic mathematics classes often teach students various mathematical techniques and formulas known as “sutras.” These sutras are concise and easy-to-apply methods for solving mathematical problems.
  • Mental Math: Vedic mathematics classes focus on improving students' mental math skills, helping them perform complex calculations quickly and efficiently in their heads.
